About Us
Luc Nadeau

Purgatorius is an organization of artists dedicated to creating ideas, images, and writings that inspire a progressive evolution of human socialization – or just make you laugh. Our collaborative and individual projects – writing, cartoons, children’s books, science, photography, music, movies, etc. – help us examine the world while sharing our findings with you.

Purgatorius is the genus name of one of the earliest known primate-like mammals, possibly an ancestor to modern humans. Purgatorius lived about 65 million years ago (early Paleocene Epoch), and resembled a small rat. Primate ancestors probably survived the K/T extinction (the one that wiped out the dinosaurs) by virtue of being small and adaptable.

Purgatorius magazine is a quarterly online publication to exhibit some of the projects we have been working on. We welcome your comments, suggestions, or corrections. Please contact us if you are interested in using one of our pieces in another publication – or if you wish to speak with a specific artist or author. Finally, if you’d like to help support our organization, we accept tax-deductible contributions.
